ENFORCEMENT CONCERNS?

Enforcement is an issue that is often raised when municipalities discuss outdoor smoking by-laws. In Woodstock, Ontario, which was one of the first cities to adopt a smoking by-law that included outdoor spaces like parks and playgrounds, enforcement has not been an issue. In fact, through public education and posted signage, their by-law has required little maintenance and is predominantly self-regulating and self-enforcing.
