QUIT

Tobacco use is the number one cause of preventable disease and death in Ontario, killing over 13,000 Ontarians every year.

Tobacco Users

Research shows that multiple quit attempts are common and can be necessary steps to quitting for good. This is why it is important to be persistent in your goal of becoming tobacco-free. Support is available.

During your quit attempt, try combining physical activity with other cessation tools and resources.  Exercise can:

  • Help reduce cravings;
  • Ease withdrawal symptoms;
  • Manage body weight; and
  • Relieve stress.

Non-Tobacco Users

Help others remain tobacco-free by adopting a tobacco-free policy for your organization or by encouraging your municipality to adopt an outdoor smoking by-law. Tobacco-free environments encourage people to quit and support those who have recently quit.
